John Fortune

Dr John Fortune is the transportation security and explosives characterization division director in the Office of Mission Capability and Support at the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). He is also the porogram manager for S&T’s Screening at Speed Program, a collaborative effort between S&T and the US Transportation Security Administration to conduct transformative R&D that supports a future vision to increase aviation security effectiveness and improve the passenger experience.

The US Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate is advancing aviation screening for passengers and officers by reducing wait times, meeting the needs of travelers with limited mobility and developing new concepts of operations to address the growing number of travelers.
