Day - 2 - Advanced air mobility (AAM), vertiports and infrastructure - 09:05 - 09:35

Advanced air mobility and its impact on the airport industry

In Europe and North America, 50% of the vertiports planned to be built by 2028 will be on airport estates. Electric aviation has the potential to transform the fortunes of smaller regional and business aviation airports, providing a new kind of air service that can compete with rail in terms of affordability and sustainability. But advanced air mobility is not like any other aviation sector. There will be new stakeholder groups, including local authorities and communities, who will have leadership roles to play in its development, and while some airports will benefit from AAM, many others will lose.

The audience will learn:

  • Where and when eVTOLs and electric aircraft will enter service
  • How different countries are planning for electric aviation services
  • How airports can benefit and plan for this new industry
  • What suppliers and airport operators can do now to prepare for AAM
  • What some airports have already done
