Yacine Kebe
Yacine KEBE is an Air Navigation Engineer, a Safety Management System Expert and accredited IAP (ACI/ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Program). From 2005 to 2008 she has worked at ASECNA National Aeronautical Activities Administration in charge of aeronautical information and regional aerodromes. From 2008 to 2012 as Head of Airside Operations at Dakar International Airport, she developed and coordinated the training for the airside driving license. From 2013 to 2017, as Quality and Safety Manager for DAKAR International Airport, she conducted safety internal audits and stakeholders’ audits and was the Senegalese Airports Agency’s designated focal point for continuous monitoring in coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority. Since the opening of the new Dakar Blaise Diagne airport in December 2017, Yacine is QSE Manager, leading the airport carbon management programme and sustainable transition. She has lived in Senegal, Spain, France and Niger and is fluent in Spanish, English and French.

Transition to net zero for small airports
With the industry adopting the net zero goal for 2050, small airports in the African region are facing an uphill battle to implement projects and initiatives for decarbonization. We will explain the main challenges in meeting the net zero target and share some of the initiatives that proved successful.
